Weekly garbage pick-up day is every Monday, except if it is a holiday, then it will be the Tuesday after the holiday. This includes Memorial Day and Labor Day.
Each residence is allowed one Large Item pick-up a month. Large Item Pick-up is the first Monday of every month. It is appreciated if you contact GFL to inform them of your Large Item. If you have any issues with your refuse pick-up, you can contact GFL at 231-258-9030. If they ask for your account number, inform them that it is Coldsprings Township.
For many years, our township has had a millage to provide convenient trash pick-up for our residents. In August 2024, a four-year millage of .75 mills was passed. The rate of the millage can vary depending on the bids received from area waste companies.
Recycling
Kalkaska County provides recycling bins at the CETA Hall located on County Road 612. There are also many recycling bins located at the Kaliseum on M-72 just west of Kalkaska.
